Details: Fire It Up! leaps right out of your speakers. From the opening chicken pickin' punches to the closing searing guitar leads, the 2008 International Blues Challenge Finalists grill up a spicy, blues rockin' feast. Produced by Laurie Morvan and Steve Savage (Grammy nominations with Elvin Bishop, Robert Cray), the band's fourth CD follows up Cures What Ails Ya, a 2008 Finalist for the Blues Foundation's Best Self-Produced CD. Named Winner 2008 Blues Artist on the Rise, Laurie and her longtime touring band serve up tight grooves, sexy innuendo, heart-string pullers and rip-roarin' stompers. Guest artists include keyboardists Sammy Avila (Walter Trout band) and David Matthews (Etta James band). Laurie's guitar playing, singing and songwriting always receive great reviews:'Wiry, fiery solos...sweet, soaring voice. Morvan's lyrics deserve scrutiny.' (Blues Revue)
'Morvan singes the strings.' (Guitar Player).
'Stunning California axe slinger.' (Vintage Guitar)
'It's slammin'! (Dan Aykroyd, House of Blues Radio Hour)
