Already a songwriter for La Chicane (“You miss me”) and for Marie-Chantal Toupin (“I could tell you”), he reveals in Fruit of my recent sleepless night a universe straddling folk, pop, country and rock. If this first album displays an obvious kinship with the group from Abitibi and its leader Boom Desjardins, it bears the seeds of the originality of this young performer who likes to speak in simple terms of love (“Fruit of my recent white night”), of his existential doubts (“Le Nombril”), and who also kindly ventures into the social arena (“Chapeau”).
