Details: Product Description Bédar, Dany Amazon.ca He has a good voice, a good look, handles the bass skillfully, and writes and composes. It was therefore only natural that Dany Bédar, a former member of the group La Chicane, would decide to venture out as a solo artist. Already a songwriter for La Chicane ("Tu m'manques") and for Marie-Chantal Toupin ("J'pourrais te dire"), in Fruit de ma récente nuit blanche he unveils a world straddling folk, pop, country, and rock. While this first album shows an obvious kinship with the Abitibi-based group and its leader Boom Desjardins, it contains the seeds of the originality of this young performer who likes to speak in simple terms about love ("Fruit de ma récente nuit blanche"), his existential doubts ("Le Nombril"), and who also ventures gently into social commentary ("Chapeau"). This polished and sincere debut certainly reveals a talented singer-songwriter who will rally fans of La Chicane. However, it still lacks a bit of maturity and true novelty… --Pascale Millot
