The live-recorded product is expected for early November. "For me, this DVD is important, because this show represents a great moment in my life. Imagine: singing in a basilica and enjoying all that spiritual energy. It was truly magical! I think about it and it still gives me chills," she says in an exclusive interview with the Journal de Québec. Ginette Reno had given two performances, on August 24 and 25, at the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica, at the invitation of La grande fête de la Côte-de-Beaupré. The DVD will broadcast the second performance in its entirety. "There will undoubtedly be some little extras; we are looking into it..." explains the singer, who is producing it herself. The diva is supported by a 25-piece band and the 40 singers of the Arcensons choir. She even mixed religious airs, such as Ave Maria and La prière, with her hits like L’essentiel, and even performed Je ne suis qu’une chanson and Un peu plus haut without a microphone, with the vocal power that sent shivers through the basilica. Curiously, the woman celebrating 54 years of her career is getting ready to launch her very first DVD. "If I never did it in the past, it’s simply because I prefer that people come see me in concert..." At 67 years old, Ginette Reno is still very active. This year, she is taking her show, Chanter pour toi ce soir, to the four corners of Quebec for a total of 68 performances. This weekend, she will be in Abitibi.
