Author: Sinclaire, Denzal

Release Date: 23-05-2000

Details: Amazon.ca Little known on this side of the Atlantic, the Canadian-born singer (pianist and composer) Denzal Sinclaire is already on his third album. Back home, his previous releases I Waited For You and Mona Lisa were well-received by both critics and the public alike. I Found Love firmly establishes him on the international stage. Highly ambitious, the collection, perfectly arranged by his loyal compatriot Bill Coon, gives pride of place to standards. He thus offers one of the most splendid versions of "The Look Of Love" ever, the Burt Bacharach classic which here rivals the boldness of Dusty Springfield's interpretation. In addition to the timeless "Autumn Leaves," Denzal Sinclaire also covers Beatles classics including "Blackbird," "The Fool On The Hill" and, above all, "Eleanor Rigby" paired with Ornette Coleman's "Lonely Woman" for an astonishing result! An absolute must-discover. --Hervé Comte
