Details: Product Description Stan Getz Amazon.ca Stan Getz in Paris, salle Pleyel, November 13, 1966. We were expecting him with Astrud Gilberto. They are angry and it is in quartet that Getz gives his concert, with Steve Swallow on double bass and Roy Haynes on drums. The latter, an old accomplice of the saxophonist, gives the group an extra soul. Gary Burton on vibraphone has been a member since 1964. All of them have strong personalities. Haynes secures a long drum solo. Burton reserves "Edelweiss" for his only instrument. The band plays "Singing Song", one of his compositions, a complex theme that Getz has long adopted. He grants the public a bossa-nova and abandons himself to lyricism in "When The World Was Young", a French song formerly engraved by Edith Piaf, a ballad with the grandiose excess of its singing. -- Stone of Chocqueuse
