The album title, BBH, is formed by the initials of the three musicians who participated: Benarroch, Boissezon, Higelin.

While Cigarette and Une mouche sur ma bouche, written by Jacques Higelin alone, remain in the minimalist vein of his Saravah label era, the other tracks, co-written with the album's guitarist Simon Boissezon, mark a decisive turn in Higelin's career: having been an experimental-leaning folk singer up until then, he grasped the status of a rock star, a witness to the violence of the big suburbs.

The album was initially to be titled BBH74, but as it was released only at the very end of 1974, it was ultimately named BBH75.

According to the French edition of Rolling Stone magazine, this is the 5th greatest French rock album. The album was certified gold for 100,000 copies sold.
