“Le silence” marks the great return of Jimmy Hunt to the Quebec music scene. The album follows the self-titled Jimmy Hunt (2010), a sensitive folk record imbued with references from the past, and Maladie d’amour (2013), an undisputed masterpiece of Quebec pop where the suave euphony of 70s Gainsbourg and Christophe married the contemporary approaches of Sébastien Tellier and Katerine. “Le silence” recounts Jimmy Hunt’s new life in his remote region, but above all, the final moments spent with his father before he departed for the long sleep. It is through silence, the record's pivotal theme, that he relates his story. In words, Jimmy Hunt invokes the passage of time to process this loss, by thinking of nothing, in silence.

Considered one of the great singer-songwriters of his generation, he presents a new folk album, at once dark and luminous, in sync with the current situation. The album was recorded in December 2019 and released as a surprise in the midst of the pandemic in May 2020. It was warmly welcomed by Jimmy’s fans and the media. The physical version is highly anticipated by the artist's fans. Let us take advantage of this apocalyptic silence of 2020 to listen to that of an artist, a true one, that of Jimmy Hunt.
