Journal d'un coopérant is the first Quebec (and perhaps world) film that could be described as a participatory experience with internet users. It is, in any case, a surprising cross between narrative cinema and an internet journal. Initially filmed in Burundi this summer, Journal d'un coopérant was then shown on the internet in the form of capsules. Bloggers were then invited to submit comments and suggestions to the director, potentially altering the course of the film's events. This innovative approach is not truly surprising when one is familiar with the particularly unconventional filmography of Robert Morin, a director firmly at the forefront of Quebec cinema.
