A cappella plus bears witness to the ensemble's evolution: this album serves both as a return to a cappella singing, which brought them success starting in 1992, and as an exploration of new musical territories through bold arrangements. "Kwa Unyenyekevu," with its African kora, evokes a Kenyan bazaar; "Great Day" plunges us straight into Mardi Gras with its New Orleans street band, while "Elijah Rock" swings thanks to Michel Donato's double bass. This alternation between a cappella pieces and lightly orchestrated tracks proves very interesting and allows the MJGC to demonstrate its full versatility.
