Details: November 2006, three musicians meet in the back of a carpentry shop that the drummer found in Contrecoeur. The room is filled with instruments of all kinds. Every week, they make a racket. They even record themselves for fun—on the tracks, in some places, you can even hear saws and hammer blows. Somewhere in 2008, the same three musicians meet at the entrance of a space the drummer booked in Verdun. As they meet, they realize they have created several catchy melodies, and that they have the potential to become real pop rock songs. At the same time, the name "On a créé un monstre" is suggested and adopted. That same year, with the help of their longtime friend, Renaud Bastien (Coeur de pirate, ex-Malajube), they record an EP. At the end of 2009, in a basement, four musicians chat over a bottle of wine that the drummer opened. The lineup has grown: a guitarist with "pianist-like" fingers has joined the group. His arrival marks an important moment in the band's history. On a créé un monstre is now a full-fledged band, and creation is at the heart of its activities. During 2010, the four musicians and a label, Slam Disques, agree to a collaboration. Following this agreement, several projects are on the table. In November, the quartet locks itself away for two months at Studio Makina with Gabriel Aldama to record *L’iceberg*, its first full-length album. The mixing is left in the capable hands of Frank Joly. In the end, 12 tracks are selected. After the album's release in 2011, 3 music videos surface, each garnering heavy rotation on Musique Plus; 5 songs appear on charts in Quebec; and concerts are given at the Francofolies, the Rencontres de l’Adisq, and everywhere on tour in Quebec. At the end of 2012, OACUM returns to being a trio and works on the composition of the album *La dérive*, which will be released on November 26, 2013. On a créé un monstre consists of François Larivière, Antoine Lachance, and Ghislain Lavallée.
