The punk rock collective La descente du coude strikes another big blow with its second album, “Coup de foudre.” Three years after “L’indécence du coup,” lead singer Simon Leduc and his wrestling partners return with poppier melodies and a more polished sound (notably the co-production of Marc-André Beaudet).

Although long-time fans might be surprised by these less frantic instrumentations, they will nonetheless—and with joy—find a new collection of lyrics that are just as poetic and socially conscious as ever, written by Leduc (including "Tourlou Moscou," which should be a hit on Quebec alternative radio). – ICI Montréal
