The LeBlanc Family / Three lovely young ladies - CD
With Trois jolies demoiselles [Three Pretty Young Ladies] aged 9, 11, and 12, all of whom play an instrument, sing Acadian laments, have traveled to France and South Korea accompanied by both their parents, and have met people generous with their cultural background, how could one not want to immortalize this journey? This album, recorded "live" in two days, is a sonic capture of a family that decided to find a way to be together by playing the oldest pieces from Acadia, a small territory located on the Atlantic coast of North America.
At the back of the Bay of Chaleur, this family lives on an ancestral farm in near self-sufficiency thanks to their historic orchard and their cheese cellar. Much like that vegetable garden, the LeBlanc family offers you music born from the intangible Acadian heritage, ranging from the Acadian Peninsula to the Gaspé Peninsula, through Chéticamp to Memramcook, the village of their ancestors, via Prince Edward Island, the Magdalen Islands, Newfoundland, and crossing the "Great Atlantic River" towards France. Have a great journey and, above all, enjoy the music!
