Details: Product Description Bia Amazon.ca The first album by Bïa, a singer of Brazilian origin, La Mémoire du vent is, in a way, the meeting of French and Brazilian cultures. We discover an interpreter with a remarkable voice who sensually envelops the melodies of composers Jean Duino and Daniel Mille. Sometimes in French, sometimes in her native language, Bïa serves us the lyrics of Pierre Barouh and Chico Buarque set to cross-cultural music, where samba and bossa-nova rhythms are bathed in a European atmosphere. In addition to original tracks, the record contains some interesting covers, notably "Por una Muneca" by Georges Brassens, as well as the original song from Claude Lelouch's film, "Hasards ou coïncidences." An album that truly revealed the singer to the French public, La Mémoire du vent received the Académie Charles-Cros award. -- Nicolas Houle
