Details: Product description Cirque Du Soleil ~ Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba Amazon.ca Music by Benoit Jutras for La Nouba is undoubtedly one of the most eclectic ever created for Cirque du Soleil. Nothing surprising there since this show, whose soundtrack was recorded in Orlando, juxtaposes fiercely opposed worlds. Dream and nightmare, magic and reality are thus translated into music by mixtures of unusual genres: meeting between monastic music, rap and soul ("A Tale"), dialogue between raï rhythms and synthesizer ("Distorted"), crossing of ball musette and electronic sounds ("Queens"). Throughout the album, accents of traditional circus music persist, to which are added modulated voices, sometimes evoking the flight of a diver or the delicate step of a tightrope walker, sometimes the unleashed choreography of a troupe of acrobats. An early collaborator of Cirque du Soleil, Benoit Jutras, among other things, created the soundtrack for the shows Who and O as well as that of the film Journey of Man. He demonstrates with La Nouba the full extent of her talent and her imagination. -- Julie Sergeant
