Details: Chand leaves her beloved family in India to build a new life in Canada. She settles in the small town of Brampton, Ontario, and marries a man she has never even met, Rocky. But he is a violent husband who does not hesitate to beat her, and he is struggling with serious family problems: a mother who wants to control everything, a confused father, and a sister he must support along with her husband and their two children. Caught between tradition and her desire for happiness, Chand finds refuge in an imaginary world based on a traditional folktale from her native land. At a crossroads between myth and reality, Chand must make her choice: submission or freedom.
