Details: "La vie en mauve", the first career album of young Simon Kearney includes 15 original songs with rhythms combining folk, psychedelic rock and grunge. Inspired by Galaxie, Jack White and Karkwa, among others, Simon has made music his playground, accurately mixing mellotron, omnichord, banjo, organ, glockenspiel, piano, Wurlitzer, tambourine, saxophone, with more classical instruments such as guitar, drums and bass. Moreover, Simon and his director Antoine Gratton play several of these instruments themselves. A clever creative trip that led to a colorful and original end product. The first excerpt “En attendant” offers us a glimpse of the parallel world imagined by Simon, where he describes how to pass the time while waiting to achieve his dreams. Now 19 years old, the singer-songwriter from L'Ancienne-Lorette has carved out a special place for himself in the "I play the guitar" contest, presented as part of the program Belle et Bum. at Télé-Québec in 2011. Simon also made a name for himself with the release of his first EP in 2013, including the radio excerpt “Laisse-moi pas chute”.
