Details: Amazon.ca Defender of nature in the cinema, Frédéric Rossif spent his life magnifying animals in their environment. He found in the Greek composer, Vangelis, a very unique musical mirror. Fundamentally different from The Wild Party, The Apocalypse of the Animals (1971) was the most moving collaboration of the two men because the director choreographed with passion and insight his definition of "the apocalypse". By contrast, Vangelis wrote his most tender and heartfelt score, bringing savagery and nature into conflict. All in nuances, Vangelis magnified his electronic music with many ecological touches. Using voices, real and synthetic, the composer illustrated the pessimism of an author with large-scale optimistic themes and melodies. Despite the years, this soundtrack of The Apocalypse of Animals remains a unique testimony to animal life, an exceptional symphonic documentary carried by a gigantic musician. --Didier Leprêtre Product description 2017 edition remastered by Vangelis.
