Details: Product Description Le Nombre Amazon.ca Add the raw energy and experience of four young "veterans" of the alternative scene and you'll have an idea of the rock explosion that is Le Nombre’s self-titled debut. Hailing from local bands like Les Secrétaires volantes, Caféïne, Les Morts, and Démolition, cohorts Jean-Philippe "Dynamite" Roy, Nicolas "Nicotine" Bednarz, Gourmet Délice, and Ludwig Wax play good old-fashioned garage 'n' roll, but allow themselves some marked pop inclinations here. One only needs to listen to the infectious chorus of "Marianne" to be convinced. The pace only slows down for an acoustic cover of "Je ne peux plus dire je t'aime" by Jacques Higelin. The local supergroup may have less attitude (and vocal presence) than their very glam ancestor Caféïne, but for fans of robust arrangements, hard-driving rhythms, and lyrics more inventive than the genre average, it's a real blast! A number to be reckoned with from now on. -- Frédéric Murphy
