Details: Product Description The number Amazon.ca Add up the raw energy and the experience of four young “veterans” of the alternative scene and you will have an idea of the rock explosion that constitutes the first eponymous essay by Le Nombre. Coming from local bands such as Les Secretaries Volantes, Caféïne, Les Morts and Démolition, the associates Jean-Philippe “Dynamite” Roy, Nicolas “Nicotine” Bednarz, Gourmet Délice and Ludwig Wax are in the good old garage'n'roll, but here allow marked pop inclinations. Just listen to the contagious chorus of “Marianne” to be convinced. The pace only slows down for an acoustic cover of “I can't say I love you anymore”, by Jacques Higelin. The local supergroup probably has less mouth (and voice) than the very glam ancestor Caffeine but, for lovers of beefy arrangements, moving rhythms and more inventive lyrics than the average of the genre, it's really great! A Number with which it will now be necessary to reckon. -- Frederic Murphy
