The Price of Peace - DVD
Taking advantage of privileged and unprecedented access to the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations, The Price of Peace paints an intimate and dramatic picture of the struggle to save a completely ravaged state. The film follows the daring and often desperate negotiations to avert another Rwandan disaster, this time in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Focusing on the UN mission, the film alternates between the organization's headquarters and the crises on the ground in the DRC. It opens the doors to the Department of Peacekeeping Operations where experts assess the risks of loss of human life and try to justify the astronomical cost of missions to donor countries. He accompanies the troops of blue helmets in Congo while the north-east of the country is in fire and blood and that the future of the country, even of central Africa, is in danger.
