Details: Product Description Daniel Belanger Amazon.ca If in his last album, Daniel Bélanger wanted to Dream Better, it is undoubtedly because he was already noting The failure of material things. It took him six years to go from dreaming to denouncing. Six years to put into words and music his reflections as an artist on our world in peril. In this planetary and committed album, the discreet Daniel Bélanger is alarmed and distressed by the fate of the planet and the downtrodden, wielding both poetry and cynicism: "I want good/The good of others/The good of the whole earth". Aerial, melodic, always a bit melancholic, his universe remains both totally contemporary and totally outside of trends. And that is what undoubtedly makes L’Échec du matériel a great record: the perfect integration of thought and musical and literary expression, confirming, if need be, the unique place of this artist enamored with freedom. --Pascale Millot
