Details: Amazon.ca After the enormous popular success of the trilogy of Boys, we could believe Louis Saïa safe from failure. However, Les Dangereux does not live up to its previous entertainment and above all seems to offer a platform for product placement. Roxane Labelle is a resoundingly successful singer. Halfway between Céline Dion and Caroline Néron, she arouses all the desires, in particular those of a group of criminals, who quite simply decide to kidnap her. His father's manager will then instruct his accountant to hand over the ransom. By trying to reconcile humor and suspense, Saïa delivers an action comedy that has above all succeeded in attracting the wrath of critics. And that is quite understandable. Because even if Véronique Cloutier is not doing so badly as a rock star and Stéphane Rousseau pulls off a few smiles as a blundering accountant, the whole thing seems straight out of a second-rate success factory where subtlety would be a toxic product. Saïa mixes her dangerous mixture with great blows of outrageous clichés, thunderous music and useless and violent scenes, without worrying about the coherence of her work. In the same register, the assembly functioned better in the comedies of Pierre Richard. --Helen Faradji
