Details: Product Description Kevin Parent Amazon.ca The Scrapbook Does the winds have changed herald a change of course for Kevin Parent? Not really, even if it's true that this third album reveals a less tortured facet of the young Gaspé singer. If he returns to his first love with a few songs in English (including a somewhat banal cover of "Suzanne", by Leonard Cohen), no doubt: The winds have changed, it's definitely Kevin Parent. Same cavernous voice and same lyrics of naive poetry (sometimes too much) which tell the intimate life of the young singer, same folk and rock influences with predominance of guitar and drums, same pretty face which makes thousands of Quebecers crack. In short, a winning recipe that will seduce his fans just as much as Pigeon d'argile and Grand Parleur, Petit Faiseur, two albums that had broken sales records. Especially since, for the occasion, Parent has surrounded himself with big names: John Webster on production (Tom Cochrane and Aerosmith), Jim Keltner on drums (Ry Cooder, John Lennon, Eric Clapton) and Tony Levin on bass (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel). The whole thing gives a smoother result than the two previous discs, but a little more predictable too. --Pascale Millot
