Details: Amazon.ca Far from political correctness and hyper-licked production, Corbeau smells of tarmac, alcohol and the night, as this relevant Integral. The raw sounds and raw lyrics don't bother with any subtlety: "Agriculture", "I want to die tonight" and "Cash-moé" scream the glaucous beauty of a life devoted to rock'n'roll. The band, which has toured bars and given hundreds of shows, was founded in 1979 by singer, songwriter and composer Pierre Harel, with bassist and guitarist Michel Lamothe and drummer Roger "Wézo" Belval, all former members of Offenbach. It is the arrival of a woman with a wild temperament who nevertheless gives her the impetus she lacked: Marjo, a provocative singer with a hoarse voice, is one of the first Quebecers to give herself vocally in this way, without shame. and unvarnished. "I don't give up", "Love sickness" and "Illegal" become fierce attacks against the established order. L'Intégrale also retraces the musical evolution of Corbeau, from a progressive sound dear to the 70s to a more accessible binary rock, in keeping with the changes that music was undergoing at the time. This compilation also demonstrates the know-how of a singular group which, in six years of history, has made no concessions to trends. -- Diana Jean
