Live 2002

Details: Product Description DePalmas, Gerald Amazon.ca No tricks, no tricks, no frills: here is De Palmas as he is, with the group he leads to take on the country's stages. A minimal and sufficient team. The guitars are for him and for the brilliant Sébastien Chouard, who never loses one to drop one or two biting broadsides (in "If you want" he gives us a saving burst on the wah-wah pedal). Amaury Blanchard strikes like a maestro (see his performance in "Mary Jane"). As for David Berland, on keyboards, and Bernard Viguié, on bass and backing vocals, we owe them the comfortable seating of the ensemble. The quintet was at the Zenith in Paris on November 12, 2001, it also played in dozens of French halls for the 2002 campaign. And that evening, like all the others, it delivered with its incomparable emotion and this energy of survival these songs of estrangement and separation. De Palmas and his men visit the old repertoire here and thus bring back the song that revealed it ("On the road"). We will find at the opening a new studio title ("Elle s'ennuie") whose chorus is strongly reminiscent of REM's "Sorry", but we will pretend not to notice it to taste until the end this solid ration of rock song, firmly held. --Jose Ruiz
