Details: Amazon.ca The project Loop in Release, in which prestigious guests such as saxophonist Julien Loureau or flautist Magic Malik collaborate, will seduce the erudite jazz lover as much as the novice with its subtlety. Indeed, the term is right: subtle dosage of funk, soul, rap, bossa and even Hindu ingredients, subtle alternation of themes and improvisations, subtle incorporation of electronics in more than moderate proportions. The whole thing even seems so delicate that one almost wonders if the name of the author is not ironic. And then comes the "mutation", in 2 parts, which, in the 8th track, gets the rhythm racing at full speed and the instruments set off in a frenzied free session. In short, it grooves severe. And then the single "You Are The One" with the characteristic voice of the "Master Fonk of the Parisian scene" Juan Rozoff is really irresistible (-ly funky...). A fine acquisition for Blue Note, this talented young composer, to be followed closely. --Luc Demont
