The freshness of Malajube is like a drug for which there is still no cure. Yet, its molecular equation hides no secrets: a lo-fi rock shell, melodic keyboard arrangements, and a pop attitude that refuses to compromise. Listening to Compte complet, The Unicorns come to mind, but, as a major difference, the Quebecers from Malajube sing in French; enough to prove wrong those critics who consider the Francophone scene to be lagging behind global indie rock trends. Beyond this favorable outlook, the combo's compositions hold up devilishly well. So much so that after one listen (only 23 minutes of music), you can immediately play the album on loop without the tracks suffering for it. A complete count that ends in a grand slam. – Olivier Robillard Laveaux (Voir.ca)
