Details: Amazon.ca The first album from Loco Locass, Manifestif, allowed the Montreal trio to make their mark on the music scene thanks to polished lyrics and music strongly tinged with hip hop. Deeply rooted in Quebec culture, the music of Loco Locass has nothing to do with ghetto rap and its main themes: violence, drugs, and prostitution. The trio instead focuses on a refined and thoughtful rap, where cultural references, from La Bolduc to Charlebois, are omnipresent. A two-dimensional album, Manifestif includes a "manifesto" aspect, driven by the trio’s committed poetry ("Langage-toi," "L'Empire du pire en pire"), as well as a "festive" aspect, which is found in the music itself, delivered with great enthusiasm. Riddled with subtle wordplay and sophisticated sound samples, Manifestif is a dense album that is a pleasure to get to know. --Nicolas Houle Product Description Loco Locass
