Details: Amazon.ca A safe bet in French song, Marc Lavoine lives up to his reputation as a talented artist. Through this chiselled (and nameless) album, he managed the feat of setting a poem by Guillaume Apollinaire to music: "Sous le pont Mirabeau". The result is striking. We immediately let ourselves be carried away by the intoxication of a melody that is both languorous and bewitching. All carried with grace by a section of strings and violins. This first title marks the beginnings of an eighth opus elegantly served with delicate ballads. Each of them seems to evolve to the rhythms of emotions. Lunar ("Chère Ami" taken up in duet with Françoise Hardy), sensual (like this adaptation of "Besame Mucho" which becomes "Mucho embrasse-moi") or a more playful ("Ma solitude.com"). Supported by female voices (Souad Massi, Cristina Marocco, Claire Keim) as if to give momentum, he takes us on a trail of cosmopolitan sounds. Between the Mediterranean and the left bank, classic and modernism, this album is certainly one of the most enchanting records of 2001. --Valérie Dupouy Product Description 2001 studio album from this French crooner, featuring duets with Claire Keim, Cristina Marocco and great Francoise Hardy.
