Details: A voice recognizable among a thousand, meticulous songwriting, sharp rhymes, and a moniker that leaves no doubt about his roots—I present to you Bachir, AKA Tunisiano. From M.Group in the mid-90s, with whom he released a maxi and an EP, to Sniper and its string of successful albums, alongside consistently notable and remarkable appearances, and a solo album released in 2008, no less than 20 years of rap have passed, with hundreds of thousands of albums sold... So what’s new in 2014? The "hunger" seems truly intact, the quality of writing is still there, the flow has been sharpened, and the themes still strike right at the heart or straight to the head... After a few freestyle rounds as a warm-up, he returns to his "wild state," offering a glimpse of the album we were waiting for. With no equivalent, it’s Tunisiano, fully determined to let his talent speak for itself; far from the drifts and "disposable" trends of French rap, he naturally positions himself as a "spearhead." This implies taking risks but also digging into what he does best: "denouncing without snitching" and using words that "don't just touch the ears, but pierce the heart." All these ingredients are found in this new record, which should stand as the major work of his already full career. While some might be showing their age, he seems to be getting a new lease on life while making music that aligns with his life as a thirtysomething. On the production and guest side, the finest artificers have been summoned: Cori and Stan E Music on the machines, to name but a few; a Val-d’Oise summit meeting on "Val de Zoive" with Lino; a "thug" four-of-a-kind with Sofiane, Ol’Kainry, and Vald, along with other surprises to discover by listening to the album...
