With the single L'imbécile célibataire already under her belt, unveiled a few weeks ago, singer-songwriter Marquise Desmarais is now preparing to release the first album of her career, L'échappée.

Eleven folk songs with catchy melodies and touching lyrics where human feelings are broken down with humor and finesse. Intimate and unifying, L’échappée marks a great start for Marquise Desmarais.

The album was recorded at the renowned Breakglass Studio in Montreal and was released on April 24th. A highly anticipated release, to say the least, which comes after the artist turned many heads in several competitions. She was notably a winner of the local final of Cégeps en spectacle (2015), a semi-finalist at the Tremplin de Dégelis (2017), a finalist in the Musiqualité competition (2019), and a semi-finalist at the Festival en chanson de Saint-Ambroise (2019).
