The quest for the gift of ubiquity is a race against time. From one screen to the next, we want to be everywhere at once, often at the expense of the present moment slipping through our fingers. Martin Lizotte knows this well: "music is a good remedy for reconciling ourselves with the passage of time".
It is this quest that guided the distinguished pianist and tinkerer in composing an album of ethereal melodies, a true ode to free music and imagination. Ubiquité is a wandering and mystical work that strips us of our bodily shell to plunge our soul into a fascinating universe of original music.
Composed partly in Montreal and Deschambault, the music of Ubiquité was recorded at Studio Makina and in the old Cap Lauzon convent. Mathieu Désy directed and mixed the album, while also vibrating his 5-string polyphonic double bass.
