Details: I thought about making an album for adults. At first I wanted it funny, good for morale, then I got lost on the way. Life gave me a couple of beautiful legs at the same time, and I find myself with a more, let's say, serious album. Serious who does not take himself seriously. Who speaks of serious things as it is inevitable to cross after having accumulated a few decades of life. With time goes, everything goes. We know what that means when we have sixty years in the body. We know them, but we don't take offense. We don't spend every minute thinking about it. We know it, that's all. I speak of death, of life, of serenity, of my mother who forgets a lot, but who strangely remembers the essential. I'm talking about childhood, that first plunge into this strange thing that we are. I'm talking about love, of course. Not as much as some, but hey, some do so much that, I find it redundant to dwell on it too much. I sing my heroes there. Songs that I feel like I've always loved. It's a soft album, which wants to be a balm. Of course there is melancholy and a bit of sadness, but it is sweet and inevitable like life. I said an album for adults, but I have no problem with young people listening to it. They will no doubt find something else there. I have worked with Guy St-Onge, whom I have met here and there on all sorts of projects for thirty years. We had spoken, vaguely, of working together one day. One day, Guy asked me to make the most beautiful album on earth. Oh! Who could resist that? What does the most beautiful album on earth sound like? To nothing I suppose, to everything? It is the one made with the love and patience of the craftsman. When you do something with love and patience, it's always the most beautiful thing on earth. That's what we tried to do. Nothing more to explain. I think it all hangs together. As always, it is a long-cooked dish for the pleasure of the guests.
