Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter and founding member of the legendary group Garolou, Michel Lalonde, is back in full force with a new album. Comme un engin will be released on the Full Stéréo label, owned by brothers Pierre and François Lamoureux.

The album's ten songs are reflections on love, friendship, the environment, the planet—life itself! The lyrics reveal a simple poetry, reflecting the perspective of a man whose thoughts, while certainly matured, never succumb to cynicism or fatalism. The title track is a prime example, where the image of the pure, raw energy of youth taking to the streets to decry inertia in the face of the challenges of our battered world reminds us that we are all part of this machine, this mass of earth and humanity.

Tinged with folk-rock, country, Cajun, and "Americana" sounds, Comme un engin was largely recorded on Prince Edward Island and produced by Rémi Arsenault (Natalie MacMaster). With the collaboration of Ed Stasium (The Ramones, Talking Heads, Motorhead), the album represents a turning point for Lalonde, an incursion into a world where the poetry of a seasoned songwriter meets the energy of Acadian salt-water rock under the guidance of producer Rémi Arsenault. The first single, J’suis fait comme ça, with its catchy melody and Michel Lalonde’s distinctive voice, brings us back to the glory days of Garolou.

With two Félix awards and over 225,000 albums sold during his career, Garolou's legacy in the history of Quebec music is undeniable, and Michel Lalonde played a major role in it. With this third solo album, he confirms what his fans have always known: that beneath the skin of this wolf who revived our greatest refrains, there has long been a committed and passionate singer.
