Details: Amazon.ca It may well be that this fourth album permanently installs Mickey 3D on the French music scene. Rock song, or melodic rock capable of harsh lurches ("La Peur" even has accents à la Noir Désir), the trio is part of this evolution of French song increasingly doped with electricity. The boys of Mickey 3D know the importance of silences and the importance of word choice. They also have an instinct for the exact tone, mixing upset accents and those of the slightly cynical detachment dictated by the times, to protect themselves ("Amen"). Their talent as composers (confirmed by the success of "J'ai demande à la lune", written for Indochine) finds in this album a fulfillment combining the most pop melodies (the choirs à la Kinks in "La Vallée") and the simplicity of traditional music ("Yalil", "The End of Beans"). Dominated by the guitars, the songs flow from the same rich source, which feeds the verses full of sensitivity and innocence ("Tomorrow will end well" has the air of an electro nursery rhyme). Stuffed with small humanist messages and ironic questions, "You're not going to die laughing" announces, from the title, its disenchanted intentions.
