Details: The year is 1919. The First World War has just ended, and soldiers are returning home, some ready to return to their jobs, others, less fortunate, unable to do so. The last few years have been difficult for Harry Gordon Selfridge who, still as exuberant as ever, is nevertheless delighted to marry his eldest daughter, Rosalie, to a Russian aristocrat. Except that relations with the in-laws will not be easy. Violette Selfridge, the family's rebel, does as she pleases while Gordon carves out a place for himself at the store, which upsets some. At Selfridges, after years of hardship, business is picking up. Kitty, head of cosmetics, is now married, but she will face some pitfalls. Victor has fulfilled his dream of opening his own business, except that it will lead him to hang out with some unsavory people. Agnès and Henri, shop window magicians, have found true love, but the war has not left them unscathed. In the midst of all these colorful characters, Harry continues to run his shop, while keeping an eye open for new business opportunities, unaware that the sinister Lord Loxley is working behind the scenes, determined at all costs to get revenge.
