Details: 2010 release from the British Pop band led by Tim Booth. Following the release of it's companion, the Night Before, the Morning After has an intuitive, low-key 'campfire' feel and features some of the saddest, darkest lyrics Booth has ever come up with. From bluesy opener, 'Got the Shakes', about an alcoholic guy waking up and realizing he has beaten his wife, through to it's closer 'Fear' - Atmospheric, experimental and just a little bit haunted, 'Fear' tackles that dominating inner monologue that stalks the life that's lived too long. With additional highlights including 'Look Away' for the simple reason that it is almost impossible to listen to it without singing along, and 'Tell Her I Said So' about Booth's mother dying in a home, which ironically shows the first signs of light, suddenly embracing disco, employs a childrens' choir and becomes curiously life affirming.
