Juste pour rire Scène and TVA Films present Nabila Ben Youssef’s show, Drôlement libre. This Tunisian-Quebecer unveils her conception of freedom in her adopted land. Addressing themes like religion, sexuality, and cultural differences is a delicate exercise unless your name is Nabila. With Drôlement libre, this rebel shows that she is not afraid of words. “Quebec, and the world of comedy, needs Nabila. Without ever being vulgar, but by daring all the time (...) especially that laughter that makes us enjoy ourselves together.” - La Presse Her humor is both biting and charming, making people laugh and reflect. Her self-deprecation even manages to break down certain prejudices. Thanks to her incomparable and endearing personality, she exposes us to a unique point of view, a comedic reflection on what it means to be free to one's very fingertips. “Nabila’s personal touch, in fact, is the freedom with which she expresses herself.” - Rue Frontenac Disarming and sensual, Nabila transforms into a true weapon of mass seduction, keeping her audience on the edge of their seats from start to finish. She is a true fighter who has not finished breaking down doors and opening minds. And her “Stone me if I’m wrong” is likely to go down in history. “The comedian says: ‘Stone me if I’m wrong!’ After the delivery of her show, titled Drôlement libre, the risk of a stoning is inevitably ruled out.” - Le Devoir Recorded on July 20, 2012, at the 5e Salle of Place des Arts in Montreal. Artistic direction by Pierre Bernard, directed by Mathieu Baer.
