Details: Product Description Originally Release '02 , Debut album from the French Jazz quintet, produced by Teo Macero. Amazon.ca Parisian group, Nojazz is the last comer, in 2002, on the electro-jazz scene. While its pioneers have turned to other horizons, Erik Truffaz and Julien Lourau in the lead, while Nils Petter Molvaer and Bugge Wesseltoft continue on the other hand to explore the smallest contours with happiness, this formation is showing its nose, haloed by the realization of the legendary producer of Miles Davis, Teo Macero to whom we owe the discovery of the Lounge Lizards. The group presents itself as follows: "Nojazz is against jazz in the way Sacha Guitry was against women: everything against." We will be able to epilogue at leisure... There remain muscular interventions, mainly by the prompters, Philippe Sellam on saxophone, and Nicolas Folmer on trumpet. Pascal Reva chooses his samples with taste – the Buena Vista Social Club – while the others, bubbling, are not left out. A zest of electro, a bit of hip-hop, a few influences drawn from rock, a sense of improvisation inherited from jazz: the formula is certainly known if not hackneyed, but it is effective. More on stage than on record. --Hervé Comte
