Details: Product Description After their Hit Debut Album 'a Lo Cubano', the Orishas Come Back with this Album Full of Latino Grooves, Rock and Hip Hop, Mixed by Mario Rodriguez (Notorious Big, Public Enemy, Mobb DEEP). Amazon.ca Surfing on the Manu Chao/Sergent Garcia wave, the four from Orishas – including an ex-DJ host of Radio Nova – ignited the year 1999 with a surprise album To Lo Cubano. After a marathon tour where they earned their stripes of international stature, they return to break boundaries and unite an audience fond of Latino groove, rock and hip-hop. Mixed by Mario Rodriguez (who made his ears on Notorious Big, Public Enemy or Mobb Deep…), their warm fusion inspired by traditional sounds is available in Spanish and sometimes in French thanks to producer Niko Noki, already noted for his work with Passi and Bisso Na Bisso. Placed under the sign and protection of the Orishas, deities from Nigeria, these precursors of Cuban hip-hop invite some popular sizes such as Passi ("La Vida Passa") and Yuri Buenaventura ("300 kg of rap") to dance salsa, guaracha or danz¢n. In short, their rap is as sunny as that of Cypress Hill (claimed influence) is smoky. --Sabrina Silamo
