Beyond the successful band for The Cure-loving teenagers that Indochine was in the 80s, we knew the frontman was a man of taste, something he confirms here. Indeed, in 1992, he released his most curious solo album to date, Dans la lune, consisting of rather curious covers, including one by the cult band Young Marble Giants as well as another by Gérard Manset. Four years later followed Danceteria, which Paradize extends. There is no doubt: Nicola has been listening to Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails, which is made a bit more evident by the electronic touch brought by Oli De Sat. "ElectraStar" brings back the saturated guitars of the excellent Wax (1996), while the rest of the album unfolds alongside a host of guests: Gérard Manset (fancy that!), Ann Scott, Jean-Louis Murat, or Mickey 3D. Just as singular, the former bassist of Hole (Melissa Auf Der Maur) comes to sing, in French, on "Le Grand Secret."
