Filmed in 1975 in the splendid region of Saint-Victor and Saint-Martin in the Beauce, this feature-length fiction film brings to life, with humor, sensitivity, and nostalgia, an era that left a deep mark on modern Quebec. Is this resistance to conscription and to mandates of all kinds, felt as an injustice, not the source of this new freedom for the Québécois people? Does this "immediate past," which filmmaker Clément Perron explores here like an archaeologist in love with his roots, not contain all the elements of the Quebec national issue?
