With the EP Philédouche , Philémon Cimon presents complex relational writings, where the mother, the sister and the lover merge. The word is poetic, intimate and direct.
Recorded mainly in Charlevoix (church of St-Joseph-de-la-Rive, chapel of Port-au-Persil, gazebo in the Auberge famille L'été) and in his apartment in Montreal, with the same musicians as on the album Pays (2019) – Nicolas Basque on guitar, Adèle Trottier and Josianne Boivin on backing vocals, Philippe Brault on mix, Ryan Morey on master –, we find there a bit the same raw and dreamlike sound as on the previous album. In fact, these songs were recorded at the same time as Pays , during the same sessions, only the themes were different. These were older songs, songs that occupied the transitional creative space between Women Like Mountains (2015) and Pays (2019), and Cimon decided to keep them for a separate project, Philédouche .
