Details: Discovered within the Time Bomb stable, this Cameroonian-born rapper releases his first solo album on a label affiliated with Secteur Ä. Self-titled, this record presents a young hustler from Place des Fêtes (Paris) with many facets. From egotrip ("Profession MC") to emotion ("Si loin de toi," dedicated to his late mother), via delinquency ("Une journée de dealer"), independence and business control ("C'est plus fort que moi"), or the black cause ("On lâchera pas l'affaire," advocating Afro-Caribbean unification), the man known as Pit Baccardi fires off salvos of rhymes in every direction. He also doesn't forget to add a touch of sex and a drop of introspection to his exhilarating cocktail. As for the producers (Djimi Finger, DJ Mehdi, DJ Maître, Akhenaton, Sulee B, Yvan, Ol'Tenzano) and the guests (Doc Gynéco, Jacky & Ben-J, Arsenik, Kéry James, IAM...), they are also highly varied. The result: "a gold record in a Nike tracksuit." --José Guerreiro
