Details: Amazon.ca Dedicated to the 60s of little France, this compilation is mainly focused on titles signed Serge Gainsbourg. Indeed, from 1964, on its second super-microgroove, France recorded a title by Gainsbourg, "N'enseignement pas les idoles". Will follow "Drop the girls" the same year and "Poupée de wax, doll of sound" in 1965. Selected by Luxembourg at Eurovision, this last song will win the grand prize and, adapted in several European languages and even in Japanese , will open the doors of the international to the little Frenchwoman. Reinvigorated by this success, the great Serge will continue to work for the most lolita of yé-yé: "Wait or go away" (1965), "We are not angels" (1965), "Baby Pop" ( 1966), "Les Sucettes" (1966, very controversial title) will allow him to remain in the front runners of Salut les amis. It was in 1967 that Serge Gainsbourg put an end to their collaboration when, on the same 45-rpm, "Baby Shark", brought by Joe Dassin, was more successful than his own title, "Teenie weenie boppie" (evoking LSD ). Note also that the album contains a photo booklet. A nice and exact summary of what France was like before Michel Berger. --Thierry Cadet and J.-PP Product Description Import-only collection from the French vocalist containing 23 of her most popular recordings from 1963-67, including eight tracks written by French icon Serge Gainsbourg.
