Rest assured, with a bunch of stubborn and indomitable characters like Psychotic 4, the time when rock'n'roll breathes its last is still a long way off. Like a band of superheroes watching over the immortality of a punk-rock whose origins date back to the 70s, each member of the Montreal-based group Psychotic 4 is endowed with a particular musical strength, each wielding their instrument with extraordinary passion. For Dean Generate, the man at the head of the project, this is a dream that goes back a long way. It indeed took him a few years and several lineup changes within the band (they have actually just changed drummers again) before this entity took shape, combining the authenticity of rock'n'roll, the insolence of punk, and the exuberance of glam rock.

The project began when the guitarist-singer and his longtime friend, bassist P.J. Stagger, ended their collaboration with their previous band in order to pursue new musical paths, less hardcore and more rock'n'roll. That was in 1999.

Through a friend, they were put in contact with people from the independent label Indica (GrimSkunk), to whom they sent a demo. They were immediately pleasantly intrigued by the energy of the music, and then by the band's attitude on stage. They therefore decided to allow them to release an EP, Unlocked Unleashed Unzipped.
