" The Quartet" tells the story of Reggie (Courtenay), Wilf (Connolly) and Cissy (Collins) who live in the Beecham House, a residence for retired musicians. Every year, the residents put on a show to celebrate Verdi's birthday, in addition to raising funds to maintain their establishment. Reggie's ex-wife, Jean (Smith), arrives at the Beecham House and creates quite a stir, playing the diva, but refusing to take part in the concert.
