Made up of pianist and composer Arnaud Spick-Saucier , double bassist Étienne Dextraze , drummer Philippe Lussier-Baillargeon and saxophonist/flutist Alex Dodier , SHPIK offers impressionistic and daring music, drawing on the sources of jazz and film music. Evoking large spaces and reflection, thus moving from the immensity to the infinitely small, their first album dares and offers a disconcerting journey imbued with theatricality. With their inspired flights and effects pedals, SHPIK brings an airy touch to music. Their first album, Fabulation , was released in November 2016. In 2018, the group won the Grand Prix de Jazz TD at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.
