Details: For over twenty years now, singer MARTIN DESCHAMPS has been delivering his music and his heart with his warm rocker’s voice and unwavering energy. After a career spanning 6 solo albums and several related projects (Offenbach, Vic Vogel, LeBoeuf Deschamps), he now offers us "SOULSHINE ACOUSTIC SESSIONS" in a very stripped-down form. As the title suggests, DESCHAMPS lets his soul shine on ten covers chosen from his all-time favorite songs, in acoustic versions. Indeed, the tracks were plucked from the memories of a singer influenced by blues, gospel, and rock. LIKE A ROCK by Bob Seger, DOCK OF THE BAY by Otis Redding, JET AIRLINER by the Steve Miller Band, and even JOHN THE REVELATOR, a traditional gospel song (which MARTIN DESCHAMPS performs a cappella, tapping his foot to keep the beat), are all songs that rocked his childhood and still resonate with him today. SOULSHINE was recorded in his own studio in Rawdon with the collaboration of young prodigy RICKY PAQUETTE, who plays all the instruments on the album in addition to having arranged, produced, mixed, and mastered the whole thing. The musical talent of this guitarist is absolutely fantastic, as evidenced by the entire work. DESCHAMPS leaves his mark by playing slide guitar on YOU GOTTA MOVE, a blues classic recorded in 1965 by Mississippi Fred McDowell and later popularized by the Rolling Stones. He also calls upon his longtime accomplice, ANGEL FORREST (four-time recipient of the Vocalist of the Year award at the Canadian Maple Blues Awards), who joins him on the track BLACK GIRL. This first entirely English-language project gives him access to a new audience and is very likely to open doors for him in an international market. SOULSHINE is filled with inspiring, relaxing, and "trippy" music. Perfect for summer road trips!
