Compositions based on European musical genres have been created in Canada for over three hundred years. Gradually, Canadian composers inscribed the notion of the space of North in their creations. Pianist Elaine Keillor invites us on an initiatory musical journey through works written between 1807 and 2010. She paints a unique and comprehensive portrait of Canadian piano music including, for the first time on record, pieces by several contemporary composers and creators such as Glenn Gould.
