Details: As this 1987 TV series concludes, the darker tone introduced in the previous episodes takes hold. Mikhail, the icy boy who kidnapped Nakahito, kisses the prisoner and assumes his true form: a voluptuous female with a regular and a Mark II Angel Heart. Kurumi's Mark II Heart contains both angelic and demonic elements, and the latter are gaining the upper hand, as her vast black wings and increased powers indicate. Her battle with Mikhail only accelerates this deadly process. The scientists from the future and the combined power of the other Steel Angels can't stop Kurumi; only the bond she and Nakahito share can overcome the demonic forces. The ending exalts the power of love over evil, but the suggestions of a sexual relationship between the overripe Kurumi and the barely pubescent Nakahito are not for the squeamish.
